*Please note: registering as a new user for this site
will not allow you access to edit any records already
existing here or cause hidden names/dates to appear.
If there is a record you would like to see updated,
please use the "Suggest" button displayed in
the toolbar on the
individual's page.
Note regarding submissions: I'd be very glad to add any
photos, histories, etc. you might want to contribute to
this site. When emailing them to me, please be sure to
add the Person ID (it's displayed with a "I") so
I can be sure to link to the right individuals. And it
is possible to connect a photo or document to multiple
individuals.
LATEST UPDATE: November 10, 2008 - new web host location!
The new location allows for more room for the site to expand, as well as some other little bonuses.
If you would like to contribute your Braniff research to this site, I now have the room to allow for users to upload GEDCOMs and photos. If you've previously signed up for an user account, you will need to re-register.
I'm still in the process of connecting cities &
towns to the Google Maps (a time-intensive project).

Mexican Braniffs
From: Braniff, Boyd E. (boyd.braniff @ alcoa.com)

Subject: RE: Bit about Alberto Braniff
We lived in Mexico City for 2 years (as US expatriates)
There are several well known Braniffs in Mexico besides Alberto
(whose bust
is in the main lobby of the Mexico City airport and has a Blvd named
for him
leading to the airport).
Ing. Mauricio Braniff leads Grupo Braniff (air transport and
customs) in
D.F.
Dra. Beatriz Braniff Cornejo (Braniff is her surname) is a published
archeologist in northern Mexico
Francisco Braniff Lopez (the surname is Braniff) runs Braniff
customs
company in Nuevo Larado
Francisco Tomas Braniff Suinaga (Braniff is the surname) runs the
Agencia
Aduanal Braniff in Veracruz
Eduardo Braniff is manager of International Promotion Sales for MTV
(in New
York)
Juan Carlos Braniff is Director General of Bancomer (Leading bank in
Mexico)
With all these Braniffs in air transportation and customs Jose
Buenrostro
should have no trouble finding out about the history of Alberto.
FYI - There was an Irish Brigade that fought for Mexican
independence and a
memorial to them in Mexico City (most were killed in battle)
